Review our terms of business below

The price for any Goods ordered by you will be the price shown on the order form at the time you place your order and will include VAT at the current rate.

We will debit the price as printed on your order confirmation, from your debit or credit card when we receive your order. A legally binding contract with you will arise once Riverside has received the deposit payment for the goods in full from you.

Payment terms are 50% deposit on ordering, 50% balance is required no less than 24 hrs before agreed installation date.

If you order products for delivery anywhere within Mainland UK other than to our storage depot, you will be informed of the rate of delivery charges applicable and other delivery information when you place your order. You will be notified of this additional charge before your order is accepted by us and you can confirm that you wish to proceed with your order.

We aim to fit all orders within the time specified at time of ordering. Fitting dates cannot be 100% guaranteed, but we will do our utmost to ensure goods are fitted within the stated date or soon afterwards. Time is not of the essence of this agreement and we cannot accept liability for any delay which is either minor or beyond our reasonable control or caused by a failure to gain access to the fitting address on the agreed delivery date.

Once you have placed your order and received your payment confirmation, you cannot change or cancel your order or change any of the agreed applications, measured or custom made to your requirements or specifications, as these goods will not be resalable by Riverside. The cancellation provisions in Regulation 10 of The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 do not apply to this agreement.

Riverside has the right to cancel your order if we are unable to manufacture the Goods you have ordered or one or more of the goods you have ordered were listed at an incorrect price due to a typographical error in the pricing information. At this point Riverside will refund your deposit in full. If we do cancel your order we will notify you by email and will re-credit to your account any sum deducted by us from your debit or credit card within 30 days of notification. We will not be obliged to offer any additional compensation for disappointment suffered.

Any changes (in height or width) made to our measurements that were taken by us, be it by the customer, their builders and/or decorators by way of brickwork, plastering, tiling or skimming, may result in the shutters needing to be re-ordered at the customer’s cost. This will be at the full price as paid by the customer as per their signed order. We will always advise/assist builders/plasterers by way of marking walls and/or sills as a guide to the maximum and minimum lines. We cannot be responsible for trades not adhering to these guidelines. Please contact us if you need, or plan to make any changes REGARDLESS of what your builder says.

Your shutters have to be fitted level. We will always allow for tolerances when measuring on all our surveys. This is to allow movement in the framework when offering it up to the window framework. Any gapping that occurs due to uneven surfaces such as Window Sills, Reveal and ceilings will be ‘caulked’ to the best of our professional ability. This is at most times acceptable, but there are certain limits (depths) to which we can, and will caulk to. In this instance, it is generally best, and advised to leave the gapping as ‘shade gaps’.

It is not in our remit to ‘make good’ any uneven surfaces. These uneven surfaces are generally down to bad alignment when your window was originally fitted. Reveals are many times out of plumb due to bad or out of level plastering and Ceilings can ‘droop’ or ‘run-up’. In all cases, we will do our very best to hide this discrepancy, but please note this is not included in your fitting charges unless specified or requested.

Whilst every effort is made to ensure your colour matches our swatches exactly, dye batches from our manufacturers may vary slightly from time to time. We cannot guarantee an exact match even on our samples unless paint finished, as wood is a natural material and does vary slightly in grain and shade although we are very accurate with our stains.

Riverside warrants their products to be free from defects in materials or workmanship as per the above schedule. Provided that such products were properly installed; and such products were made or assembled exclusively from original materials and components. Any resale or other transfer of the product and/or materials after the first six (6) months voids this warranty.

Repair, remake or refund of defective products are the remedies under this warranty for the first six months after installation, thereafter the sole remedy will be repair or remake of defective products. Repairs will be made with only like or similar parts. During the first six months, this warranty does include shipping charges, costs of labour for measuring, installation, or trip charges, thereafter it will be excluded.

Riverside shall not be liable for any loss or damage of whatsoever nature, including consequential loss or damage arising out of delays or failure to deliver due to fire, explosion, unavoidable breakdown of machinery, government acts and/or regulations, strikes, war (declared or not) or by any other acts of God or similar circumstances which are reasonably beyond the control of, and unforeseen by, Riverside.

This warranty does not cover any condition of or damage to the shutter or window, from unauthorized repairs, accidents, alterations, misuse, abuse, act of God, motorized devices, daily wear and tear or failure to follow the manufacturers instructions with respect to measurement, installation, cleaning or maintenance. Improper, inappropriate, or unauthorized replacement parts, repairs or maintenance voids this warranty. Due to manufacturing, natural variations in colour, grain and texture in products, Riverside is not able to guarantee exact matches on subsequent orders. Returns cannot be authorized due to these normal variations.

For any goods that have been damaged in shipment or were made incorrectly, you must notify us within 48 hours of the date that the merchandise is fitted. Claims outside the 48 hours period cannot be accepted.

If you feel that there is a fault regarding your shutters, we are more than happy to look into resolving the issue.

For DIY customers, we cannot accept the return of the Goods by reason of the measurements given being incorrect. You are advised to read the measurement guide for guidance on how to take the required measurements accurately.

Whilst every attempt will be made by us to ensure that the Goods sold match in every respect any sample or description shown or given or sent to you, any minor or immaterial variation or change in colour pattern between the sample or description and the Goods delivered shall not entitle you to reject the Goods nor claim any compensation for such variation or change. We reserve the right to substitute goods of equivalent price and quality for the goods ordered.

No statement, description, or recommendation contained in any correspondence or marketing material from Riverside’s Web site pages or by any agent or employee of Riverside shall be interpreted so as to enlarge, vary or override in any way any of these terms or conditions.

If any part of these terms and conditions is unenforceable including any provision in which we exclude our liability to you the customer, the enforceability of any other part of these conditions will not be affected.

You the customer acknowledge and agree to be bound by the terms of our privacy policy.

Except for Our own affiliates, directors, employees and/or representatives, a person who is not a party to this agreement has no right, under the UK Contacts (Right of Third Parties) Act 1999 to enforce any term of this agreement. This does not affect any right or remedy of a third party that exists or is available apart form that Act.

This contract is subject to English law and the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
